RECORDING of An Evening At Home With Torin Douglas

Recorded at Chiswick Playhouse as part of the Bedford Park Festival

As BBC media correspondent for 24 years, Torin Douglas covered many major stories on radio and TV, including the death of Princess Diana and the Queen’s ‘annus horribilis’; dozens of BBC crises, from ‘Armanigate’ and the Hutton Inquiry to the Jimmy Savile scandal; Rupert Murdoch’s triumphs and disasters, from BSkyB to phone-hacking; and the tribulations of the National Lottery, including the Millennium Dome.

Closer to home, he was awarded the MBE in 2013 for services to Chiswick, where he has lived with his family for more than 40 years and run many arts and community events in aid of charities. These include the Chiswick Book Festival, the Bedford Park Festival and events at Chiswick House, St Michael & All Angels and other churches, ArtsEd, Chiswick Library and Chiswick Playhouse, where he is one of three patrons.

Torin is interviewed by the executive director of Chiswick Playhouse, Mark Perry.
